The School of Education and Humanities and the design course at the School of Fine Arts from the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná, in collaboration with CONNECT, are promoting the PERSONA Contest – Together against COVID-19 with CONNECT.

The students from the Prof. Adelina Régis School of Basic Education (Videira, Brazil) and University students from the design course at the School of Fine Arts of the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (Brazil), are invited to present original and creative drawings inspired by the theme “Together against COVID-19”.

The awarded designs will be applied in protective masks for COVID-19 and distributed to vulnerable communities.

The PERSONA Contest – Together against COVID-19 with CONNECT, eminently cultural, artistic and social, aims to:

  • Encourage artistic production, contributing to the critical, creative and sensory development of the participants, enhancing the interest of youngest participants in fine arts and design.
  • Share the experiences of the university and school community during the COVID-19 pandemic, promoting a reflection on bringing the University closer to society.

The period for registering and submitting the designs will run during August 2021.

The selection process for the awardees consists of 3 steps:

1st. Phase – Eliminatory: the process for validation of application and eligibility.

2nd. Phase – Classification: the process of evaluation and selection of designs by a Judging Committee. The works will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  1. Authenticity/originality;
  2. Creativity;
  3. Alignment to the theme;
  4. Possibility of technical adaptation and production of the mask.

3rd Phase – Voting: The selected designs will be presented for popular vote.

DATES:

  • Registration: 5-31 August 2021
  • Evaluation and pre-selection by a Jury: 1-7 September 2021
  • Popular vote: 9-15 September 2021

The designs with the highest vote in each category (schools and graduates) will be produced and distributed to vulnerable communities, partners of the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná. All works selected by the Judging Committee will be visible to the public in a virtual exhibition.
